Imported Semen Levy

A levy is applied to each foal born that is by a licensed, performance tested stallion not currently financially registered with the Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia. New Zealand, United States and German registered stallions are such cases. This levy is to compensate the Society for not receiving the stallion registration from the owners of such stallions. If an importer of semen wishes to register such stallion with our Society to save their clients the cost of doing so, the stallion can be fully registered for an annual fee. This stallion will then be published in the list of Australian registered stallions.

In the case of members using unfinancial but licensed, performance tested stallions with financial Stud Book mares, the resulting progeny can still be registered. A increased levy will apply in this case. The foal must be parentage validated through DNA. The active mare registration fee is also applicable.

See "Application Forms" for more details on fees.
