The HHSA has enjoyed another very successful Annual National Tour, with Maren Schlender from the Hannoveraner Verband being the guest German classifier for 2016. For the second year the tour incorporated the registration of Rhineland foals.
Hanoverian and Rhineland foals were presented at inspection points around Australia for registration and branding.
The parentage of all foals registered with the HHSA is verified by DNA typing. The hair sample required from each foal for DNS testing is taken on the day of the tour. Parentage verification is required prior to a foal being eligible to receive their international passport and Universal Equine Life Number (UELN) created from the database of the Hannoveraner Verband in Germany.
Each foal was presented in-hand for an evaluation of their conformation, as well as being shown free beside their dam for an assessment of their gaits.
The classifier/s choose the Australian Champion Foal, as well as the Top 10 or more foals on tour. For 2016 we have 12 foals who gained the Gold Ribbon status. Owners/breeders whose foals receive these awards can feel extremely proud.
For your interest, the HHSA currently has a number of superb Hanoverian ridden horses and youngstock offered for sale in their 2016 Autumn Sales Catalogue. To see more, please go to Horses for Sale. Click the image below to download the 2016 Autumn Foal Pictorial.
